GuardMe, Inc. (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates GuardMe, a DNS protection application. This Privacy Policy explains our privacy-first approach.
GuardMe is designed with privacy as a core principle. We process data to protect you, but we do not identify, track, or profile you.
| Data Type | Collected? | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Personal Information | ❌ No | No names, emails, or accounts |
| Browsing History Logs | ❌ No | We don’t store sites you visit |
| User Profiles | ❌ No | No behavioral tracking |
| Location Data | ❌ No | No GPS or location tracking |
| Cookies/Trackers | ❌ No | No tracking technologies |
Your DNS queries pass through GuardMe servers to block threats: - Queries are processed in real-time - Malicious domains are blocked - Recursive resolution of target addresses (domain → resolved IP) is collected on our servers to protect against threats - We never collect this on your device — consumer apps do not log DNS queries or IP addresses - Local logs may exist on your device for debugging; we do not collect them by default. Logs are only sent when you explicitly opt in (e.g., “Report an Issue”, “Send Support Logs”)
To detect fraud, phishing, and counterfeit products, some traffic to flagged domains is inspected: - Content analyzed for threats using AI - Images checked for counterfeit products - Your browsing is not logged or stored - Traffic is not associated with your identity
When you see a warning and choose to proceed or decline: - Your choice is recorded anonymously - Helps reduce false positives - Improves protection for all users - No user identification attached
GuardMe uses an anonymous certificate for secure communication:
| Aspect | Details |
|---|---|
| Contents | Random serial number only |
| Purpose | Secure updates, entitlements, metrics |
| Privacy | Cannot be linked to your identity |
| Control | Removed when you uninstall |
We track anonymous metrics to improve GuardMe:
This data: - Contains no personal information - Cannot identify individual users - Helps us improve the product - Is never sold or shared
Your preferences stay on your device:
We do not sync personal data to our servers.
GuardMe does not: - Use advertising networks - Integrate tracking SDKs - Share data with data brokers - Sell or rent any data
